Facebook restrictions

We are aware that as technologies advance, children wish to keep up to date with this.  However we have been made aware that some children in school are using social networking sites and chat rooms.

With your child's safety in mind, we would recommend that children are supervised at all times when using the internet.

In particular, it is clear that some children have currently been using Facebook accounts.  We feel that it is our responsibility to inform parents and carers that it is currently against the legal terms and conditions of the website for any child under the age of 13 to access the site.  Should we find children from Springwood using the site, we will report the account to the site managers.

Specific restrictions are as worded below.  For more information please feel free to contact Mrs Priestley or full terms and conditions can be found on the Facebook website.

Facebook age terms and conditions:

" The Site is intended solely for users who are thirteen (13) years of age or older, and users of the Site under 18 who are currently in secondary school or college.  Any registration by, use of or access to the Site by anyone under 13, or anyone who is under 18 and not in secondary school or college, is unauthorised, unlicensed and in violation of these Terms of Use.  By using the Service or the Site, you represent and warrant that you are 13 or older and in secondary school or college, or else that you are 18 or older, and that you agree to abide by all of the terms and conditions of this Agreement."
